Q-Park Oy is one of the leading parking providers in Finland, which has quickly stabilized its position in the market. The company provides tailored parking services ranging from individual parking transactions to season tickets and value cards. Q-Park owns and operates parking facilities and monitors various parking lots in the biggest cities in Finland.
The company was established in the Netherlands in 1998. Today it functions in 10 European countries, operating about 5 800 parking facilities with over 800 000 parking spaces. Q-Park entered the Finnish market in 2006.
Q-Park’s parking facilities are located in very different places geographically, so the company had a need to find a centralized solution for their surveillance. Another important goal was to smoothen and quicken the traffic from in and out the facilities.
Q-Park ended up choosing ASANTech remote monitoring software, recorders, and automatic registration plate recognition solution (UVP ANPR) via Swarco Finland Oy, ASAN Security’s sales partner.
– We chose ASAN, as their solutions was the most integratable and customizable to our needs as it comes to taking advantage of modern video surveillance and cameras in our business, says Marek Darkowski, the Sales and Marketing Manager at Q-Park Finland.
– Thanks to the UVP remote monitoring software, we have been able to centralise the surveillance of multiple locations to a single surveillance center. Centralising has increased cost efficiency. In addition, integration of the registration plate recognition software to our parking management system has helped us to improve our customer service: for instance, the time duration of vehicles entering to and exiting from the facilities has been shortened significantly, as the beams can be raised faster during the registration plate identification; the benefits of this are particularly noticeable during rush hours, Darkowski explains.
Internal call integration, and reporting feature with chosen criteria has been integrated to the registration place identification: Q-Park can monitor and report the duration and response time of the customer calls, as well as the source of the call, which further improves and speeds up the customer service.
– In case of any problems, we have always received help quickly and flexibly from the technical support from Swarco Finland and ASAN Security. The fact that we have been using ASAN’s solutions for many years now is a proof of our satisfaction, Darkowski concludes.
